Profile Prof. Vladimir Tasev is a surgeon in Sofia with over 35 years of experience and interests in abdominal surgery, breast surgery and thyroid surgery. He performs all surgical interventions, including laparoscopic techniques, for various pathologies of the abdominal organs, hernias, breast and thyroid gland. He has over 150 scientific works, including publications, papers presented at international congresses, and surgery textbooks for students and specialists in training. He was a member of the team that performed the first liver transplant in Bulgaria. Prof. Tasev does not examine children. Education He graduated from Medical University Sofia in 1982. He obtained his specialty in Surgery in 1988. In 1999, he obtained the educational and scientific degree of Doctor after defending a dissertation entitled: “Comparative Studies on the Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment of Patients with Uncomplicated and Complicated Hepatic Echinococcosis.” He was elected Associate Professor in 2002 and Professor in 2014. Qualifications - 1996 – Specialization in Laparoscopic Surgery at Tel Hashomer University Hospital, Tel Aviv University, Israel; - 2002 – Specialization in liver transplantation in Valencia, Spain, at La Fe Hospital, Division of Liver Surgery and Transplantation; - Since 2002, he has been an expert in the accreditation and evaluation of healthcare institutions. Biography Since 1984, Prof. Tasev has worked at the Clinic of General and Hepatopancreatic Surgery at Alexandrovska University Hospital Sofia, successively as an assistant (1984), senior assistant (1988), and chief assistant (1991). Prof. Vladimir Tasev is currently part of the specialist team at Harmonia Medical Center Sofia.
